VITAMIN B12 SUPPORTS ENERGY PRODUCTION. Vitamin B12 aids Folic Acid in regulating the formation of red blood cells and supports the utilization of iron. Vitamin B12 has been used for the support of anemic conditions and B12 is important for manufacturing red blood cells. B12 is not found in plant foods, but can be found in meat, eggs and dairy foods.
B12 is important for carbohydrate metabolism and energy production. B12 supports proper digestion, the synthesis of protein and the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Vitamin B12 supports DNA cell formation and supports the maintenance of healthy nerve cells and may be supportive for memory and learning. Other benefits have been shown to contribute to healthy homocysteine levels and cardiovascular health.
Discover how Sublingual Vitamin B12, folic acid, B6 and Biotin can support health with more energy, increased mental clarity, improved moods, circulation, homocysteine and anemia.
NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE AND AGING:
Japanese scientists identified a form of Vitamin B12 that protects against neurological disease and aging. This natural vitamin is called methylcobalamin. Cobalamin, (the methycobalamin form) is required to support the protection against neurological diseases and aging. Published studies show that B12 is needed to regenerate neurons, as well as the myelin sheath that protects axons and peripheral nerves.
BRAIN TOXICITY AND BRAIN AGING:
The mechanisms of action of B12 methylcobalamin are intriguing. One cause of brain cell death is glutamate toxicity. Brain cells use glutamate as a neurotransmitter, but unfortunately glutamate is a double-edged sword in that it can also kill aging brain cells.
Dr. Russell Blaylock MD., is a board certified neurosurgeon, author and lecturer who also has a practice in nutrition. His book:
Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills will explain the neuro-toxic affects of glutamate, monosodium glutamates, glutamic acid, other names that it comes under and forms of glutamates. Dr. Russell Blaylock also writes interesting information on the dangers of aspartame and other synthetic sweeteners that cause so much damage in the body. When you eliminate them from the diet, you may notice how much better you'll feel, more mental clarity, less confusion, less ADD symptoms, irritability, brain fog and you may experience more energy. Reduce the hidden food allergies your body has been experiencing to these substances.
Dr. Russell Blaylock describes in his book, when glutamate is released in excessive amounts into the body, intercellular communication stops! The flood of glutamate onto the receiving neurons drives them into hyperactivity and the excessive activity leads to cellular degradation. We do not recommend high use of glutamic acid supplements because of the concern about glutamate induced brain cell damage. Do a search on line and find out what foods contain high amounts of glutamates, monosodium glutamate and all the different names it comes under.
In a study in the European Journal of Pharmacology (1993 Sep.7;7;241(1:1-6), it was shown that sublingual B12 methylcobalamin protected against glutamate, aspartate and nitroprusside(nitrates) induced neurotoxicity in rat cortical neurons. It may be possible to support the protection of brain cells against glutamate toxicity by taking sublingual B12 methylcobalamin with folic acid and B6 supplements. B12 methylcobalamin may be required on a supplementation program to be effective in supporting the protection against neurological disease.
HOMOCYSTEINE: Vitamin B12, folic acid and B6 may also contribute to healthy homocysteine levels and cardiovascular health. Vitamin B12, folic acid and B6 have been shown to support the methylation enhancing therapies to protect against heart disease and age related diseases.
Homocysteine is an amino acid in the blood. Epidemiological studies have shown that too much homocysteine in the blood (plasma) may be related to a higher risk of coronary heart disease, stroke and peripheral vascular disease. Homocysteine may have an effect on atherosclerosis by damaging the inner lining of arteries. The dietary components with the greatest supportive effects are B12, folic acid and vitamin B6. Folic acid and other B vitamins help break down homocysteine in the body.
ENERGY & FATIGUE:
Dr. Paul Cheney MD., PhD & Dr. Charles Lapp MD, both world renowned doctors specializing in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients, developed studies with B12 injections. Patients received high doses of vitamin B12 injections. The B12 shots dramatically increased ENERGY in 80% of the participants. Vitamin B12 is necessary for the formation of red blood cells, which are linked to energy levels, with deficiencies being associated with fatigue and low energy. As this nutrient is vital for carbohydrate metabolism and energy production, vitamin B12 is a welcome addition to any maintenance program. Now doctors everywhere are administering B12 shots to help patients have more ENERGY. Shots can be expensive and time consuming. Vitality Products B12 Sublingual methylcobalamin with folic acid, B6 and biotin is a cost effective way to use B12.
FOLIC ACID:
Folic acid is considered a brain food, and is needed for energy production and the formation of red blood cells. Because folic acid functions as a coenzyme in DNA and RNA synthesis, it is important for healthy cell division and replication. Folic acid is an important nutrient in regulating homocysteine levels. It is very important in pregnancy. Folic acid helps to regulate embryonic and fetal nerve cell formation, which is vital for normal development.
National Institutes of Health Office of Dietary Supplements states: "Folic acid is a B9 vitamin. It helps the body make healthy new cells. Everyone needs folic acid. For women who may get pregnant, it is very important, for when a woman has enough folic acid in her body before and during pregnancy, it can prevent major birth defects of her baby's brain or spine. Foods with folic acid in them include leafy green vegetables, fruits, dried beans, peas and nuts. Enriched breads, cereals and other grain products also contain folic acid. If you don't get enough folic acid from the foods you eat, you can also take folic acid as a dietary supplement".
B6:
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, helps support brain function and helps the body convert protein to energy. Some research has shown that vitamin B6 works with folic acid and B12 to support reduced levels of homocysteine (an amino acid) in the blood. Elevated homocysteine levels can increase a person's risk of heart attack.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) affects both physical and mental health. B6 is required by the nervous system and is needed for normal brain function and for the synthesis of the nucleic acids RNA and DNA. B6 activates many enzymes and aids in the absorption of vitamin B12. It inhibits the formation of a toxic chemical called homocysteine, which attacks the heart muscle and allows the deposition of cholesterol around the heart muscle. B6 acts as a mild diuretic. A deficiency of vitamin B6 and B12 can result in anemia, and other undesirable conditions.
BIOTIN:
Biotin aids in cell growth; in fatty acid production, in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Sufficient quantities of biotin are needed for healthy hair and skin. Biotin is a B vitamin needed for the formation of fatty acids and glucose, which are essential for the production of ENERGY. Biotin is a great nutrient. Biotin is found naturally in food such as brewer's yeast, nutritional yeast, liver, cauliflower, salmon, bananas, carrots, egg yolks, sardines, legumes and mushrooms.
Supplements that contain Sublingual B12 (methylcobalamin) with folic acid and B6 are inexpensive, fast and efficient, dissolve under the tongue and speed the essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream where they immediately begin to support the body. "Sublingual" literally means "under the tongue" so they can be rapidly absorbed into the blood vessels. The substance is absorbed through the buccal mucosal and into the sublingual vein where it has direct access to the blood circulation and is then carried throughout the whole body.
Vitality Products Co. Inc. offers sublingual Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) with Folic Acid, B6 & Biotin that is provided in a superior sublingual form that can be used more efficiently. Sublingual lozenges offer a convenient and inexpensive method of enjoying the benefits of this nutrient. Placing the tablet under the tongue and letting it dissolve, allows for quick absorption into the blood stream.
