Wheat Grass (also spelled wheatgrass) and Barley Grass juiced powder is pure Certified Organic freeze dried wheatgrass and barley grass juice powder that tastes very pleasant and has no added fillers or emulsifiers. Our wheatgrass and barley grass contains only the juiced powder and none of the fibrous cellulose of the grass that for some, can be hard to digest. As a green juiced vegetable our wheatgrass and barley grass provides an extraordinary balance of all the vital nutrients contained in the grass, vitamins and minerals from the dark green leafy vegetable that it is and provides it in an easily assimilated form.
Wheatgrass and Barley Grass has the unique properties of being some of the only plants that can pull mineral contents from within the soil into the plant and make it readily available. Wheatgrass and barley grass juices are similar to drinking dark green vegetable juices but different in that no other vegetable contains such a variety and potency of vital nutrients. They are also known as the king of alkaline foods.
Vitality's Wheat Grass and Barley Grass powder is 100% organic powdered wheatgrass and barley grass juice without hard to digest fibers. Freeze drying preserves the life-giving quality of the minerals, enzymes, chlorophyll, amino acids and phytonutrients contained in the living grasses. Our Wheat Grass and Barley Grass Organic Juiced Powder stands above all others as the premier green superfood.
The wheat grass comes from the wheat plant (botanical name: Triticum aestivum) when it is young and full of rich green chlorophyll, before it turns into the wheat berry used for grains. When the grass is squeezed, a dark green liquid is expressed and this is called wheatgrass juice, where it is then dried quickly and all the rich nutrients are contained in the grasses.
Barley Grass comes from the barley plant (botanical name: Hordeum vulgare), like wheat grass and other similar plants, it is a cereal grass classified as a grain. However, in its early sprouting stages, the tender young grass shoots are more like a vegetable. Organic green barley grass brims with chlorophyll. In dried form, the superior quality of organic barley grass powder from Vitality Products Co. Inc. is even closer to the high chlorophyll content of micro-algae.
Our wheatgrass and barley grass is in a controlled organically rich soil until it reaches maturity. Then it is harvested for consumption and made into wheatgrass and barley grass juice powder. Chlorophyll which makes up over 70% of the solid content of wheatgrass and barley grass juice is the basis of all plant life.
Wheatgrass and barley grass is harvested for juicing when the grass reaches its nutritional peak. This is just before the jointing stage, when the plant is between 7 and 11 inches tall. Our wheatgrass and barley grass juices are juiced in seconds and dried which maintains the natural nutrients without compromise.
One ounce of Wheatgrass and Barley Grass organic juice is equivalent in vitamins, minerals and amino acids found in 2 and 1/2 pounds of green leaf vegetables.
Science has identified over 3,800 nutrients in raw live foods such as vegetables and fruits. We at Vitality Products Co. Inc. are enthusiastic supporters of wheatgrass and barley grass and we only carry the best wheatgrass and barley grass juiced powder to offer our customers.
Wheat Grass traces its roots to 1931, when an agricultural chemist named Charles Schnabel became the first scientist to discover the nutritional advantages of a diet incorporating young cereal grasses. In study after study, subjects that were fed these grasses displayed superior health and vitality to the ones on other diets – including diets incorporating more traditional vegetables.
Over the next twenty years, Dr. Schnabel and his colleagues at Cerophyl Laboratories would not only map the nutritional profiles of these valuable greens, but determine the keys to both harvesting and protecting their peak nutritional value – a pioneering body of work that has served as a blueprint for the methods and practices utilized by our supplier. The book, CEREAL GRASS: WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU,written by Ronald L. Seibold, M.S., in 1990, extols the virtues and nutritional values of wheatgrass as well as other grass varieties, such as barley grass. The book was dedicated to Dr. Charles Schnabel and Dr. George Kohler for their dedication and contribution to their research in the nutritional factor of cereal grasses.
Wheat Grass, barley grass and other grasses are the foundational food for most land based animal life. Wheatgrass was identified as the finest grass food of all after a series of intensive agricultural research studies spearheaded by Dr. Charles Schnabel and assisted by Dr. George Kohler, Dr. Richard Graham, Conrad A. Elvehjem and E. B. Hart in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Of particular note, they performed direct comparisons of wheatgrass against other well regarded vegetables including spinach, broccoli and alfalfa. While animals fed these latter mentioned foods exclusively began to waste away, those fed only wheatgrass thrived on it. This spawned further research which showed that wheatgrass contains a broad spectrum of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, essential fatty acids and enzymes. In addition, their research also identified benefits that could not be associated with any of these known nutrients. The expression "grass juice factor" was termed to describe beneficial powers in grasses that were distinct.
At Vitality Products Co. Inc., we're proud to supply our customers with the same high-quality wheatgrass and barley grasses that Dr. Schnabel devoted his life to, grown in the same rich northeastern Kansas soils used in his original studies. Young grasses like Vitality's Wheat Grass and Barley Grass contain the widest spectrum of nutrients found in any vegetable, as well as additional nutrients Schnabel and his team dubbed "the grass juice factor." Whether in powder or capsule form, try our Wheat Grass and Barley Grass Juiced 100% Organic vegetable grasses for yourself and enjoy the highest quality of super greens.

Juicing wheatgrass was started in the 1950's by Ann Wigmore. Her story is fascinating, read about it in the book "Wheatgrass Nature's Finest Medicine" by Steve Meyerowitz. Ann Wigmore was a Boston resident. She used wild weeds, herbs and greens and started her quest on researching these natural herbs. Her observations led her to conclude that wheatgrass was the best source of greens. Many reports of chlorophyll's effectiveness have come through Dr. Ann Wigmore, ND, and teacher of natural living. Ann Wigmore later formed the Hippocrates Health Institute in Boston and worked with thousands of people over the years. Today Hippocrates Health Institutes have expanded and are located throughout the U.S.
There is no gluten in Wheat Grass or Barley Grass. Gluten is only formed in the wheat grain (seed). Our wheatgrass and barley grass is harvested and cut before the grasses develop a seed head. If you are allergic to wheat or barley grains, you should not have trouble to the properties of the wheatgrass or barley grass juice unless you are allergic to "grasses". Then we suggest you avoid greens from all grasses.
